NAOROJI GODREJ CENTRE FOR PLANT RESEARCH (NGCPR)
The Naoroji Godrej Centre for Plant Research is established in the year 1992 in the fond memory of Late Shri Naoroji Godrej. Registered as a Section 25 (now referred to as Section 8) Company, the Centre's objectives is to carry out purposeful research with a focus to conserve the native, endemic and indigenous plant diversity. The Centre is also recognized by The Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) of the Government of India, to conduct need-based research in Biodiversity & Plant conservation, with particular emphasis on nurturing and propagating unique plant life of the Western Ghats and Medicinal plants that are of national interest.
To be recognized as one of the top institutions in biodiversity research and conservation of indigenous and native plants of the Western Ghats and other parts of India for the benefit of Society and community at large.
To carry out research in diversity, conservation and propagation by disseminating scientific knowledge, capacity building and outreach to Society on threatened, endemic, wild and cultivable plants for sustainable use.
